Chiropractic care will include adjustments using Diversified technique, Activator method, and Thompson technique. These services may be used in conjunction with education on nutrition, exercise, lifestyle and stress management.
To understand chiropractic, one must first understand health. Health is the ability to perfectly heal and fully function. We don’t have to tell our heart to beat, our lungs to breath, our immune system to fight disease, our stomach to digest food, or an injury to heal. We merely have to trust in our body’s ability to maintain maximal function.
This ability to sustain optimum health resides in the nervous system. The nervous system is the master control center of our body and consists of the brain, spinal cord, and nerves. The brain is connected to every organ, tissue, and cell via the spinal nerves. Our brain monitors, coordinates, and controls every process in our body—as long as it has enough energy to do so.
How Stress Affects Health
In a perfect world, our brain, spinal cord and nerves function perfectly 100% of the time. Unfortunately, the real world is not perfect. We fill our lives with additional stressors. Stress can be physical, mental, and/or nutritional. Whatever the form, these stressors start to affect our health. When this happens, our ability to perfectly heal and fully function decreases, and jeopardizes our overall health.
What exactly are these stresses in our lives? Nutritional stressors include unhealthy diet, insufficient water intake, excessive alcohol consumption, prescription and over-the-counter medications, as well as smoking. Mental stressors include sleep deprivation, negative thoughts/attitude, anxiety, and unhealthy relationships. Physical stressors include poor posture, faulty body mechanics, repetitive physical work, carrying excessive weight, and most importantly spinal subluxations.
Spinal subluxations are malpositions in your spine that can irritate the nerves exiting the spinal cord, which can negatively affect every process in the body. If these spinal subluxations persist, the rest of the body begins to fail and symptoms develop: chest pains, difficulty breathing, indigestion, headaches, decreased immunity, allergies, chronic fatigue, muscle aches/spasm, pain, infertility and many more. Correcting these subluxations through chiropractic adjustments will relieve and prevent physical, mental and nutritional stressors.
In addition to chiropractic care, EVC will offer educational classes focused on proper diet, fitness and stress management to further overcome nutritional and mental stressors.
Chiropractic is the only health profession trained to find and fix spinal subluxations in order to remove stress from the nervous system. Thus, maximize the body’s potential to maintain good health. Eagle Valley Chiropractic is dedicated to restoring the body’s ability to heal and fully function. We possess the resources to address all three types of stressors: nutritional, mental, and physical.
